Trhr-iCre mice are generated via genome editing by inserting a P2A-iCre cassette upstream of the TAA stop codon in the mouse Trhr gene, enabling iCre recombinase (codon-optimized Cre) expression under the control of endogenous Trhr regulatory elements. The expression pattern of iCre recombinase mirrors that of the endogenous Trhr gene. When crossed with mice containing loxP sites, Cre-mediated recombination between loxP sites is expected to occur in Trhr-positive cells of the offspring.
