The ATG start codon of the rat Pdgfra gene was replaced with the Kozak-CreERT2-WPRE-BGH pA cassette. When this strain is crossed with rats containing loxP sites, after the offspring are induced by tamoxifen, it is expected that Cre recombinase-mediated sequence recombination between loxP sites will occur in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPC) or NG2+ glial cells in the spinal cord and forebrain.
