Col1a1, encoding the type I collagen α1 chain, is a key member of the collagen family. Type I collagen is the most abundant collagen, playing essential roles in providing structural support to various tissues. It is involved in multiple biological processes such as epithelial-mesenchymal transition, which is closely linked to malignant tumorigenesis [1].
In malignancies, Col1a1 is highly expressed and regulates cell proliferation, metastasis, apoptosis, and cisplatin resistance [1].
