NSUN6, or Nop2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 6, is a methyltransferase that specifically targets mRNA. It mainly methylates cytosine-5 in the three prime untranslated regions (3'UTR) of mRNA at the consensus sequence motif CTCCA within hairpin loop structures [1].
